BRAGB Educational Event – 2 CEU’s: Fire Code & Lean Remodeling
Dec 11 @ 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Part 1 Basics of NFPA 241 – Fire Code Review: Basics of NFPA 241: Course design to raise awareness about NFPA 241, where it’s required and what a contractor needs to do to comply. NFPA 241 is the Standard for Safeguarding Construction, Alteration, and Demolition Operations.

Part 2 Lean Remodeling: A Path to Improved Profits – Business Practice: Remodelers are finding it harder to make a profit/living in the industry. They are faced with satisfying clients with limited budgets and increased expectations, increased material costs, more stringent building codes, and a lack of trained workers or available subcontractors. Lean Construction techniques offer the builder a new and proven tool box of techniques to address all these challenges while increasing profits at the same time.

Location: Rucci, Bardaro & Falzone PC (RBF), 500 Unicorn Park Drive, Suite 101, Woburn, MA 01801

BRAGB Webinar: Opioids & Marijuana in the Workplace
Dec 13 @ 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm

Opioid abuse is linked to problems with workplace productivity and safety. According to a report released in August 2018 by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), from 2011 to 2015, construction workers died from opioid overdoses at six times the average rate for all Massachusetts workers.

Join us for a discussion of changing laws and legal concerns related to opioids and medical marijuana in the workplace. We will review recent court decisions, the interaction between state law and potential conflicts with federal laws and other legal challenges for employers. Also learn what NAHB is doing to address the opioid epidemic in the home building industry.
