The Dollars for Change Program is a fundraising effort to support the Home Builders and Remodelers Association of Massachusetts (HBRAMA). The funds earned from this program will be used to support HBRAMA’s goals of promoting sensible housing regulations, with regard to building codes and zoning initiatives, at state and local levels, and other initiatives such as promoting careers in the building trades, and attracting talent to the home building industry.   The intent of the program is to have HBRAMA members and non-members agree to donate $1 from every invoice over $100 issued by a participating vendor, and those funds will be collected by the vendor and distributed to HBRAMA on a quarterly basis. Please contact Matt Teague at mteague@capecodbuilder.com if you have any questions.

By completing the form below, the vendor parties agree to the provisions outlined in this agreement:

Program Advertising:  The participating vendor agrees to allow posting of information as provided by HBRAMA in their place of business, such as flyers, posters describing the intent, benefits and requirements of the Dollars For Change Program. This will include advertising to both HBRAMA members and non-members. HBRAMA agrees to promote participating vendors in their own advertising for the program, through state and local chapters.

Provisions of Dollars For Change Program:

  1. Participating Donors: Any member of the public can participate in the program as a “Participating Donor”
  2. Donation Structure: Participating donors will agree to a $1.00 fee applied to all invoices over $100. These funds will be held by the participating vendor, and sent via check to HBRAMA on a quarterly basis, (1/1, 3/1, 6/1, 9/1 in any given year).  Funds may also be collected at retail check out locations using one time donation prompts on credit card machines currently in use.  Participating Vendors will submit a detail of names, of participating donors with each quarterly payment, along with amounts donated for recognition by HBRAMA. Funds are due no later than 30 days from the quarterly dates outlined above.  Participating Vendors may electively provide matching funds at a given level at the sole discretion of the Participating Vendor.
  3. Tax Status: HBRAMA is a 501c6 organization, and therefore donations to this program are not tax deductible for the participating donor, however it would be deductible as a business expense as it is part of the invoice for materials from the participating vendor.  Since the participating vendor is acting solely as an agent to collect and distribute funds for the Dollars for Change Program, this is a pass through event and not part of the participating vendor’s balance sheet.
  4. Termination of Agreement: Participating vendors may terminate this agreement through a written notice to the HBRAMA, and agree to provide any collected funds not yet delivered to HBRAMA within 30 days of the request for termination.
